King’s Theatre

The King’s Theatre in Glasgow, designed by Frank Matcham and opened in 1904, is a historic Category A listed venue renowned for its high-quality productions. Primarily a receiving house, it hosts touring musicals, dance, comedy, circus performances, and an annual pantomime, while also supporting local amateur productions. Operated by ATG Entertainment under lease from Glasgow City Council, it is widely regarded as one of Scotland’s most significant theatres and has received numerous accolades for its production capabilities.

Studio DJL were hired to refresh this historic theatre to bring it up to modern standards. We delivered a series of vital enhancements to the theatre. Upgrades were mostly technical, making important improvements to infrastructure while keeping the buildings historic features. This helped ensure The King’s Theatre could remain a key venue for locals and wider members of the general public.
